IPaintMyMind’s Arts Education Curriculum: Designed for E-Learning & Homeschooling

Arts education is always a complex topic to navigate, mostly because funding is often tenuous in public schools, but also because impact and value are hard to quantify.

That’s why IPaintMyMind’s team of Curriculum Designers and Art Teachers built these tools to pivot and augment arts learning for our Shared Walls Program partners in Chicago Public Schools, as well as the communities we have begun to serve nationwide over the past year or so.

The reality is that when the world stopped earlier this year as a result of Covid-19, we were already engaging in our annual cycle of revamping the Art Guides we deliver to schools, parks, libraries, and youth centers.

In March 2020, our Board of Directors and Staff refocused our energies on making the most of the paused state of the world to invest in the art guides, curriculum, support tools, resources, and actionable lesson plans and activities we deliver to our schools – administrators, teachers, students, and their families.

Transition to E-Learning with our Art Guide.

We’re proud to have activated our Board, Art Teachers, and feedback from our partners to create our latest batch of offerings, which is all about getting as many teachers and adults the arts education resources they need, when e-learning, hybrid learning, and homeschooling are all part of the mix.

To that end, we’ve built THREE versions of a comprehensive 80+ page Digital Art Curriculum, all of which are similar but differentiated in important ways, and they’re simply awesome:

1) The IPaintMyMind Guide for Art Teachers (available to all CPS Teachers)

For Art Teachers by Art Teachers. This comprehensive and customizable plan includes detailed instruction for Arts Educators specifically as part of our Shared Walls Program. It facilitates our Experience, Reflect, Make pathway to creative activation. Includes 18 in-depth arts activities and a massive resource section with artist interviews, lists of our partner artists from which to study, and so much more. The interactive PDF makes it perfect for e-learning as it can be pulled up on your screen and shared via Google Classroom or any other video platform.

2) The IPaintMyMind Engagement Guide for Classroom Teachers (available to all CPS. Teachers)

This version is all about giving teachers or math, science, social studies, SEL, and other subjects the tools to bring visual arts into their classroom. Here we ask, how can art be a vehicle for learning about equations, the solar system, or the history of creative and cultural movements? This version also includes activities and the resource section. The interactive PDF makes it perfect for e-learning as it can be pulled up on your screen and shared via Google Classroom or any other video platform.

3) The IPaintMyMind Arts Education Curriculum & Resource Guide for E-Learning, Hybrid Learning, and Homeschooling (available nationwide)

This version of the guide is perfect for E-Learning.

The IPaintMyMind Arts Education Curriculum & Resource Guide for Teachers, Parents & Caregivers is all about giving you the tools to bring the arts into your classroom, e-learning, remote learning, hybrid learning, or homeschooling set up.

The IPaintMyMind Arts Education & Resource Guide is ‘Plug and Play’ so that it can be adaptable to your needs, to the things you want to focus on, and is totally a ‘choose your own adventure’. This version includes Three Phases of Learning, Arts Activities modified for e-learning or homeschooling, and an expanded resources section.

Hear what teachers are already saying about it…

“The art guide is incredible. It gives great ideas on how to incorporate the artist and artworks into discussions with the class. I love the meaningful questions that come with each idea. It is clear you guys spent a lot of time creating the videos and the document with the students’ enjoyment in mind.”

– Alex Whitman, Portage Park Elementary
